The Continental and Coastal Morphodynamics Laboratory (M2C) is a Joint Research Unit (UMR) created in 1996. The laboratory's research focuses on the characterization and modeling of the dynamics of natural processes and different compartments along the EARTH-SEA continuum, at different time and space scales.
The research is organised into 5 themes: Water and sediment cycle in watersheds, Macrotidal estuarine environment: hydrodynamic interactions, sedimentology, and biogeochemistry, Dynamics of the coastline and internal platform, Morphological evolution of coastal watersheds in response to climatic and finite-cenozoic tectonic forcings, Hydrodynamics, Sediments, Structures: processes and interactions.
This research is carried out with an interdisciplinary approach integrating researchers specialized in mechanics, geosciences, oceanography and hydrology, microbiology and biology of organisms.
