organisation profile

The LATMOS (Laboratoire Atmosphères, Milieux, Observations Spatiales) is a research unit, created on 1 January 2009. It combines the activities previously developed by the Department of Aeronomy (SA) and more than half of the Center for the Study of Terrestrial and Planetary Environments (CETP). It is part of the Observatoire des Sciences de l'Univers of UVSQ Federation of research IPSL (Institut Pierre Simon Laplace). It is composed of approximately 150 permanent (researchers, engineers, academics, technicians and administrative staff) and more than 250 people in total. It is currently located on four sites (University Center Vélizy Verrières the Buisson, Paris-Jussieu, and Saint-Maur des Fosses) and will move at two sites (Guyancourt and Paris-Jussieu) from 2010.
