The 'Afdeling Waterwegen Kust' (formerly the Service of the Coastal Harbours and the Hydrographic Service of the Coast) carries out different measurements on the Belgian Continental Shelf and along the Belgian coast. The activities cover the following areas:
* navigation hydrography: depth soundings, production of marine charts and currents atlases, processing and statistics on sea level data along the coast.
