The 'Ecology and Models for Fisheries' research unit conducts research on ecosystems of interest to fisheries in order to help define the conditions for sustainable exploitation of living marine resources and associated ecosystems. It develops and disseminates mathematical and statistical methods that contribute to this objective. Its areas of expertise are: population biology and ecology, modelling for fisheries, integrated fisheries observation. This unit (formerly a department) of IFREMER replaced the DRV/RH ECOHAL and MAERHA laboratories during the restructuring of 2005.
