- The Department of Cell Biology is an interdisciplinary Department of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto and is a member of the Portuguese IMAR (Institute of Marine Research) network. Its main functions are to teach Cell Biology (ultrastructural, cytochemical and biochemical sciences) and undergraduate courses and to carry out a variety of research activities mainly on protoparasitology, gametogenesis and fertilization in marine animals.
