: The Aquatic Resources Unit (UCTRA) is an interdisciplinary department of the University of Algarve and is a member of the Portuguese IMAR (Institute of Marine Research) network. The principal functions are to teach Marine Biology and Ecology, including Fisheries and Aquaculture at undergraduate (3 courses) and graduate levels and to conduct research on various fields of marine biology, mainly those applied to inshore and coastal areas.
