- The Departamento de Biologia, Universidade de Aveiro (Department of Biology of the University of Aveiro) includes different Biological Sciences. Its main functions are to teach Biology at undergraduate level and, since 1991, Coastal Sciences at the M.Sc. level. Different lines of research work have been launched, mainly in Estuarine Ecology, which involve a number of Ph.D. students. Presently, and in the area of Marine Sciences, the Department benefits from collaboration with several European and American Universities. In general, data are freely available on contacting the relevant scientists. However, for some contract data, permission may have to be sought from the sponsor.
