- UkrSIGS is a unique research institution in Ukraine that satisfies the urgent requirements of geological survey in fundamental and applied research. UkrSIGS was founded in 1957 on the basis of the Ukrainian Branch of All-Union Research Geological Oil Institute under the Central Directorate of Geology and Conservation of Mineral Resources of the Ukrainian SSR. UkrSIGS is submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine which is a customer of research activities accomplished at the expense of the state budget. UkrSIGS provides scientific support of all the cycle of oil, gas and minerals prospecting as well as scientific methods of geological and geophysical exploration of mineral resources of Ukraine, monitoring of geological environment, deep and core boring, geological economical research, grounds regulations on standardization, metrology and certification.
