- This department (DYNECO/PELAGOS) has the role of developing a quantitative multidisciplinary knowledge of the dynamics of coastal ecosystems, by focusing on the processes likely to be generating harmful effects, either for the man (proliferation of toxic
species), or for the ecosystem (deteriorations of biodiversity by the eutrophication or the invasion of an introduced species).
DYNECO/PELAGOS is located on center IFREMER of Brest and its activities are :
- Eutrophication and Bio-accumulation which aims at studying and modelling the transfers of matter (organic nutrients and contaminants) through trophic network.
- Phytoplanctonic Proliferations which aims to understand the interactions between physical and biological processes which lead, in coastal zone, to the proliferation of certain phytoplanctonic species.
