- Research units are the key elements for the high
quality with added value R&D+i produced at the Polytechnic of Leiria. Our
15 research units (6 own, 3 branches of non-profit R&D associations, 6
branches of external research centers) develop their R&D+i activity in 4
scientific domains, delivering practical and applied answers to a diversity of
social, economic, technological, environmental, tourism, health and well-being
questions. MARE (Marine
and Environmental Sciences Centre, pole of Polytechnic of Leiria) create and apply
knowledge associated with marine resources, in order to promote innovation in
its use and management. Develop new products in the area of science and
technology of the sea.
