This online Content Management System enables SeaDataNet partners to check and to upgrade their national entries in the European Directory of Marine Organisations (EDMO). It contains addresses and profiles of all Data Holding Centres, Research Institutes, Monitoring Agencies, Data Originators, and SeaDataNet partners, that are registered in one or more of the SeaDataNet directories (EDMED - data sets, EDMERP - research projects, EDIOS - observing stations / systems, CSR – Cruise Summary Reports and CDI - data).
A SeaDataNet partner can only maintain its national entries, which includes editing of existing entries and possible activating - de-activating. It is encouraged to improve the address quality and the look & feel of the Organisation profiles by including logo's, improving text layout, including illustrations etc..and to include geographical positions of Organisations to support the EDMO Geographical User interface.
BODC and MARIS have a master log in for the CMS and can oversee and edit all entries, including codes, and have additional functionality for adding New records and Deleting existing entries, in case of duplicates. They can also enter non-European organisations, that are relevant for completing entries in the SeaDataNet directories. Non-European organisations are included in a default account 8888.
